April Sorensen HomicideOn April 17, 2007 around 12:30 PM, a fire was reported at the home of April Sorensen in NW Rochester. After the fire was extinguished, April Sorensen’s body was found inside the house. Autopsy reports confirmed she was stabbed and strangled to death. Police believe that the fire was set to cover up the crime. The Rochester Police Department continues to ask for the public's help in this unsolved case. Theft and Credit Card Fraud

The Rochester Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying two subjects who on November 8, 2017 were involved with a theft of a wallet at the Dollar Tree Store in south Rochester. Once taken, the subjects removed several credit cards and began making fraudulent charges at several Rochester stores to include Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, the Buckle, and Champs sporting goods.
The fraud in total resulted in the purchase of nearly $5000 in merchandise.

The suspect pictured pushed out numerous televisions from Wal-mart Stores as follows on January 24th and 25th. Other stores have reportedly been affected in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Rash of Stolen Vehicles in the City of Byron

Update - The Ford F-150 was recovered in the city of Rochester on Oct. 9, 2017. Both plates are still missing.
On October 8th, 2017, the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office received three (3) complaints of vehicles being stolen in the city of Byron. The thefts occurred during the overnight hours from October 7th to 8th, 2017. The vehicle thefts occurred in the northwest and northeast quadrants of Byron.
All of the vehicles were parked in the driveway of their respective residences and all three were unlocked with the keys stored inside the vehicle. As of the writing of this informational memo, two of the three vehicle were located a short distance away from where they were stolen.
The third vehicle is a 2014, white, Ford F-150 pick-up with Minnesota license plate #552PDP with an identifier on the rear window of “Rochester Ready Mix Concrete Truck #63”. If you see this vehicle, please notify local law enforcement as to its location.
